Merry Christmas from the Clan O'Reagan
Nollaig Shona agus Athbhliain faoi Mhaise Duit,
With the Holidays approaching and we prepare to celebrate with our
family and friends, I hope that all of you have a safe and happy
Holiday season.
Each of us interested in the Clan Ua Ríagáin is a member because we
wish to share and preserve our proud legacy inherited from those that
have gone before. At this time, I would like to announce the latest
endevours of your Clan, and it’s work in maintaining and preserving
our ancestral heritage.
The preparations for the establishment of the Clan Ua Ríagáin Heritage
Trust have been steadily progressing. The Trust will go to fund the
acquisition of property which will be home of the Clan Ua Ríagáin
Museum of Irish Life and Arts. The Museum will be located in an area
of the traditional Ua Ríagáin lands in the Munster region of Ireland.
This Museum and Heritage Centre will be a focal point for all Ua
Ríagáin and septs worldwide and will aid in the preservation of Irish
and Gaelic Culture, Arts, Genealogy and Historical Studies.
Our Clan will be represented during several festivals and events
during the next year. The first will be the Los Angeles Irish Fair &
Music Festival in March. Make your plans to attend this great event.
Our Dalcaissian kinsmen will be well represented at the festival, and
is certain to be a great event. I encourage you to visit our Clan’s
website regularly for updates on the festivals we will be attending.
Also, if you would like to sponsor a booth to represent the Clan Ua
Ríagáin, please submit your information to me directly.
The Clan’s exclusive newsletter “Cry of the Hills” will be forthcoming
in 2006. Members submissions and support will greatly effect the
quality of this publication. Genealogical enquiries, traditional
family recipes, articles on family history, famous kinsmen, and so
many other topics are welcomed. Call for Articles and Submission
Guidelines to be published shortly.
As we continue to grow in members, I encourage all of you to ask your
relatives and your extended family to become members of your Clan. It
is though our combined efforts, that we succeed as kinsmen within a
kindred organization. The more we grow in the number of active
members, the more we can provide for our members. The establishment of
an Emergency Fund to provide our members with direct assistance in
times of crisis and the formation of national and international Blood
Bank accounts for the needs of our members are areas that I strongly
feel, are of great benefit to our Clan. It is by our mutual
contributions that our Clan succeeds and provides the example which
other imitate.
I wish to thank all of you for your service to me and to our Clan
during the past year. Your efforts are never ignored, and your efforts
greatly appreciated by many. Although I have had the unique privilege
of receiving several honours, no one of them is more dear to me as the
honour of being your Clan Chief.
On behalf of my family, and myself I wish all of you a bright and
blessed Holiday Season.
Le gach dea-ghui i gcomhair na nollag agus na h-ath bhliana!
In Your Service I remain,
An Togaidhe do Chenal Clan Ua Ríagáin na hEireann
Chief of the Clan O'Reagan of Ireland
